Bio
Melodi received a B.A. in social science and music from Bennington College in Vermont, and a M.S. in human rights from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE).
Prior to pursuing a Ph.D., she was involved with the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) and the European Union Agency for Fundamental Rights (FRA), where she gained experience in human rights research and practice. She also designed and implemented peace projects in conflict-affected communities, funded by the Davis Projects for Peace organization.
Her research interests include peace and conflict studies, human rights, and law, with a particular focus on peacebuilding in frozen conflicts and divided societies and the study of collective action movements.
