The Assistant Mayor of Seoul Metropolitan Government, the Republic of Korea, Young Gyu-Kwon, is visiting the Maxwell School to speak about “Creative City Governance, the Power that Drives Seoul”. In 2009, two Seoul Metropolitan Government services have received public service innovation awards from the UN. As the ultimate goal of Creative City Governance is to increase the level of citizens’ happiness and sharpen Seoul’s competitive edge, the Assistant Mayor will talk about a background on the history of Seoul and its government, the challenges the city faces, its vision, the necessity for a Creative City Governance and how the future looks for Seoul.

To mark our centennial in the fall of 2024, the Maxwell School will hold special events and engagement opportunities to celebrate the many ways—across disciplines and borders—our community ever strives to, as the Oath says, “transmit this city not only not less, but greater, better and more beautiful than it was transmitted to us.”

Throughout the year leading up to the centennial, engagement opportunities will be held for our diverse, highly accomplished community that now boasts more than 38,500 alumni across the globe.
