Aftermath of Pakistani Floods Nearly six months after the floods in Pakistan, thousands of people from flood ravaged villages are still living in tent camps as their farmland in certain area is under several feet of water. Despite massive relief by the international agencies and reconstruction and rehabilitation by the Government and people of Pakistan, the worst devastation in recent time continues to claim lives due to outbreak of disease, shortage of health services, and shortages of shelter and food. In this presentation, Professor Qazi will discuss the state of flood ridden areas and work done by ordinary people in USA and Pakistan to raise funds and awareness. He will also talk about the changing course of the Indus river (1,976 miles) flowing through the entire length of Pakistan, which has caused this havoc along with the unexpected torrential rains.
