Debt, Deficits, and the Economy : a conference organized by Policy Students for Fiscal Sustainability

 The rising debt to GDP ratio, persistent budget deficits, and financially insecure entitlement programs may lead the United States into grave financial distress. Conference will educate participants on the range of opinions regarding these issues and address the role of young policy and public administration students in resolving the problem. Panelist represent wide-ranging opinions and include Professors Burman and Palmer from the Maxwell School, Dean Baker, Center for Economic and Policy Research, Bruce Bartlett, former Deputy Assistant Secretary for Economic Policy at the Treasury Department, and Susan Tanaka, Vice President, The Peter G. Peterson Foundation.

We’re Turning 100!


To mark our centennial in the fall of 2024, the Maxwell School will hold special events and engagement opportunities to celebrate the many ways—across disciplines and borders—our community ever strives to, as the Oath says, “transmit this city not only not less, but greater, better and more beautiful than it was transmitted to us.”
