Middle Eastern Studies Program Presents: Dr. Sariel Birnhaum Dr. Sariel Birnbaum The Image of the Jew in Arab Cinema Dr. Sariel Birnbaum (PhD, The Hebrew University of Jerusalem, 2010) is currently a Judaic Studies post-doctoral fellow at Binghamton University (SUNY). Prior to this he held a post-doctoral fellowship at the Hebrew University’s Smart Institute of Communication and a research fellowship at the Harry S. Truman Institute for the Advancement of Peace. Dr. Birnbaum specializes in Middle Eastern media, including cinema and television, and is an expert on the history of Egyptian film.
