204 Maxwell Hall
Add to: Outlook, ICal, Google Calendar
The workshop will be
led by Professor Peter Castro. How do cultural differences create barriers for
effective communication? What cultural values do we have that affect how we
interact with others, especially those from differing cultural backgrounds? What
skills are useful when working with people from different cultural backgrounds?
What is the role of these cultural differences in addressing interpersonal
conflicts? Our interactions with the world are shaped by our cultural values
and understandings. This workshop will seek to address the above questions
through a broad analysis of cultural values and understandings, and a focus on
identifying barriers that prevent effective cross-cultural communication.
Emphasis will be placed on developing and practicing skills that will aid in
decreasing the effects of these barriers. The workshop will be highly
interactive with simulations and participatory activities. Free & open to
all! Morning coffee and lunch will be provided. To register for this training,
