"Syracuse Community Geography: Putting Public Scholarship on the Map" Syracuse Community Geography is an innovative university-community partnership that provides G.I.S. mapping and geospatial analysis support to the Central New York community. Now in its sixth year, the program has worked with over 100 different community groups, nonprofits and municipal agencies on some of our region's most significant challenges. Community-proposed topics are diverse and have included hydrofracking, access to fresh produce, literacy and neighborhood safety. Join us to hear about the impact the program has had on the community and our students. Syracuse Community Geography is a program of the Maxwell School's Department of Geography. Jonnell A. We’re Turning 100!

To mark our centennial in the fall of 2024, the Maxwell School will hold special events and engagement opportunities to celebrate the many ways—across disciplines and borders—our community ever strives to, as the Oath says, “transmit this city not only not less, but greater, better and more beautiful than it was transmitted to us.”

Throughout the year leading up to the centennial, engagement opportunities will be held for our diverse, highly accomplished community that now boasts more than 38,500 alumni across the globe.
