MAXCNY Lunch and Lecture Series 2012 "THE PROMISE ZONE: Educating Our Youth/Meeting the Challenge" The Syracuse Promise Zone is an innovative solution for identifying and supporting students with serious emotional disorders. Their mission is to reduce suspensions, keep students in class, and help them to learn through targeted interventions that match the emotional and behavioral needs of the student. The Syracuse Promise Zone was created through an alliance with the Onondaga County Department of Mental Health, the Syracuse City School District, the Say Yes to Education Program, OnCare (System of Care), and a number of community based organizations. It is a great step toward improving the educational outcomes and lives of our young people. Join us to hear Jennifer Parmalee, 2001 Maxwell MPA, discusses the details, the collaboration, and the expected impact of the program on our students and the community.
