Peer to Peer Series “India’s Right to Information Act” with Prem Gera, CAS in Public Administration Candidate India’s Right to Information Act of 2005 was created to generate openness and transparency within government agencies and departments of the country. This presentation will examine the rationale for the Right to Information Act, the creation of the Act itself as well as the challenges and opportunities implementing such a governance measure has generated. About the speaker: Prem Gera is a Certificate of Advanced Study in Public Administration candidate. He is interested in the issue of governance. Mr. Gera has been a civil servant in India for 27 years, most recently as the Joint Director LBSNAA Mussoorie and looks to return to a senior position in the Indian Government after completing his studies.
