Exchanges and Returns: Graduate History Conference

151 Eggers Hall

Add to: Outlook, ICal, Google Calendar

The History Future Professoriate Program is pleased to be hosting its fourth annual graduate conference on March 23, 2012. This year’s theme is “Exchanges and Returns” and it is our biggest event yet as we will be holding three concurrent sessions all over campus throughout the day. We are also thrilled to have received papers from scholars all over the northeast and even abroad. The highlight of the day will be the keynote address from Aaron Sachs, a noticed historian from nearby Cornell University, who will be sharing his work in a talk entitled, “City Parks on the Middle Border: Landscape, Memory, Epistemology.” The event promises to be exciting, fun, and intellectual stimulating and the History FPP welcomes visitors from inside and outside the Syracuse University community, free of charge, to attend a session or stay for the whole day to see the newest work from these promising young scholars. For more information see our website at historyfpp.syr.edu. Hope to see you there!

We’re Turning 100!

To mark our centennial in the fall of 2024, the Maxwell School will hold special events and engagement opportunities to celebrate the many ways—across disciplines and borders—our community ever strives to, as the Oath says, “transmit this city not only not less, but greater, better and more beautiful than it was transmitted to us.”

Throughout the year leading up to the centennial, engagement opportunities will be held for our diverse, highly accomplished community that now boasts more than 38,500 alumni across the globe.
