Peer to Peer Series “Intergovernmental Relations Among Federal, State and Local Governments in the United States” with Travis Glazier, EMPA candidate This Peer to Peer presentation will provide an overview of the structure and interactions among federal, state and local government as it relates to funding, jurisdiction, sovereignty and basic jurisprudence. The complex interdependence of governments in the United States is a delicate balance that is constantly changing. However, fundamental philosophical arguments about where power resides in government and justice are still debated today. The discussion will also review how these relationships are structured and maintained. Mr. Travis Glazier has a detailed background in political campaign management and currently is Director of Intergovernmental Relations for Onondaga County. He currently works with area municipalities to promote the County’s consolidation efforts on various levels. Mr. Glazier joins Maxwell to pursue an EMPA degree with an interest in leadership, public administration, consensus building and metropolitan government.
