East Asia Program presents Dr. Satu Limaye on An Assessment of the U.S. 'Pivot' to Asia The Obama administration has adopted a policy of strategic rebalancing toward the Asia-Pacific region. U.S. officials have said this “pivot” to Asia is not designed to contain China. What are the results of the policy thus far? What are the implications for alliances, partnerships, and U.S. participation in multilateral organizations? What are the future challenges for U.S. relations with the region? Dr. Satu Limaye is Director of the East-West Center in Washington, DC and a senior advisor at the Center for Naval Analyses (CNA). Previously, he held positions at the Institute for Defense Analyses (IDA) in Washington and at the Asia-Pacific Center for Security Studies (APCSS) in Hawaii. Limaye graduated from Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service and received his Ph.D. in international relations from Oxford University. Lunch Will Be Provided
