Richard Ravitch has been chairman of the Metropolitan Transportation Authority, chairman of the New York State Urban Development Corporation, lieutenant governor of the State of New York, co-chair, with Paul Volcker, of the task force on the state budget crisis, chief negotiator for the owners of Major League Baseball, chairman of HRH Construction Corporation, and chairman of the Bowery Savings Bank. He lives in New York City.

To mark our centennial in the fall of 2024, the Maxwell School will hold special events and engagement opportunities to celebrate the many ways—across disciplines and borders—our community ever strives to, as the Oath says, “transmit this city not only not less, but greater, better and more beautiful than it was transmitted to us.”
