The recent turmoil in China’s stock market has raised questions about its economy, which is the second largest in the world. Was the sell-off mainly a correction in equity prices? Or is China facing a deeper crisis? What do these recent events tell us about the sustainability of China’s current model for growth? What obstacles does Beijing face in making economic and political reforms? And what are the implications for the rest of the world?
