His Excellency Borys Gudziak hails from Syracuse, NY. A 1980 alum of the College of Arts and Sciences of Syracuse University and the son of Ukrainian immigrants, Borys moved to Ukraine after earning his doctorate from Harvard University in 1992.In Ukraine, Bishop Borys re-established what grew into the new Ukrainian Catholic University (UCU). UCU, under the leadership of Bishop Borys Gudziak since 2002, has been recognized as a “leading force of democratic reform and ethical business practices.”
