Bishop Borys Gudziak, Bishop of Ukrainian Catholic Eparchy of France and the Benelux Countries; President, Ukrainian Catholic University 

His Excellency Borys Gudziak hails from Syracuse, NY. A 1980 alum of the College of Arts and Sciences of Syracuse University and the son of Ukrainian immigrants, Borys moved to Ukraine after earning his doctorate from Harvard University in 1992.

In Ukraine, Bishop Borys re-established what grew into the new Ukrainian Catholic University (UCU). UCU, under the leadership of Bishop Borys Gudziak since 2002, has been recognized as a “leading force of democratic reform and ethical business practices.”

Hear Bishop Borys reflect upon the “Revolution of Dignity” and engage in a powerful experience which is educational, inspirational and spiritually uplifting.

To mark our centennial in the fall of 2024, the Maxwell School will hold special events and engagement opportunities to celebrate the many ways—across disciplines and borders—our community ever strives to, as the Oath says, “transmit this city not only not less, but greater, better and more beautiful than it was transmitted to us.”
