The Perilous Sate of the Democratic Party

Except for holding the White House, the Democratic Party is in its worst shape in more than 80 years. Bennett will talk about what happened and why, what it means for the 2016 Elections.  Can the Party can come back.

Bennett’s pursuit of center-left politics has taken him from the campaign trail to the White House, and from the pages of The New York Times to appearances on Meet the Press and 60 Minutes. He worked on both of the presidential campaigns of Bill Clinton and served as Deputy Assistant to the President for Intergovernmental Affairs where he was the principal White House liaison to governors. He covered issues ranging from disaster response to Medicaid to immigration.

In 2005, Bennett and three co-founders in established Third Way. Dedicated to fresh thinking and moderate ideas in a time of extreme political immoderation. Matt loves to take on the big questions our country faces with some of the people he respects most in the world. He considers helping to extend marriage equality one of Third Way's proudest achievements so far.

We’re Turning 100!

To mark our centennial in the fall of 2024, the Maxwell School will hold special events and engagement opportunities to celebrate the many ways—across disciplines and borders—our community ever strives to, as the Oath says, “transmit this city not only not less, but greater, better and more beautiful than it was transmitted to us.”

Throughout the year leading up to the centennial, engagement opportunities will be held for our diverse, highly accomplished community that now boasts more than 38,500 alumni across the globe.
