Where Brexit Ends  

A Talk by Samuel Marc Lowe, Center for European Reform

As the Brexit dates nears, the precise nature of the UK’s future relationship with the EU remains uncertain. The current Conservative Government  is still deeply divided on key issues concerning trade, security, and immigration. Prime Minister May faces the tricky task of getting any deal through Parliament. Samuel Marc Lowe offers us an updated account of the current state of play and some conjectures on where the UK will ultimately end up.

Samuel Lowe is a senior research fellow at the Centre for European Reform (CER). He works on trade issues, with a focus on Brexit, customs and regulatory barriers. Prior to joining the CER, he led work on trade, Brexit and environmental issues for Friends of the Earth and is a co-founder of the UK Trade Forum. He is a visiting research fellow at The Policy Institute, King’s College London, and holds an MA in Conflict, Governance and International Development from the University of East Anglia. He comments regularly on trade issues in the print and broadcast media, including the Financial Times, The Times, The Guardian and BBC Newsnight. He has given oral evidence to UK Parliament’s Brexit, International Trade and Environmental Audit select committees and the European Parliament’s trade committee.
