Join Dean David Van Slyke of the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs and Dean Karin Ruhlandt of the College of Arts and Sciences to hear the latest school news. Then enjoy an interactive panel discussion with Arts and Sciences and Maxwell faculty members, and learn how autonomous systems like self-driving cars and smart-home technologies are transforming our world every day, yet have far outpaced existing policy and legal frameworks.

Panel participants include: Jamie Winders, professor of geography and director of Syracuse University’s new Autonomous Systems Policy Institute; Johannes Himmelreich, assistant professor of public administration and international affairs; Christopher Scholz, professor of earth sciences; and Saba Siddiki, associate professor of public administration and international affairs.

Communication Access Real-time Translation (CART) will be provided.

To mark our centennial in the fall of 2024, the Maxwell School will hold special events and engagement opportunities to celebrate the many ways—across disciplines and borders—our community ever strives to, as the Oath says, “transmit this city not only not less, but greater, better and more beautiful than it was transmitted to us.”

Throughout the year leading up to the centennial, engagement opportunities will be held for our diverse, highly accomplished community that now boasts more than 38,500 alumni across the globe.
