Add to: Outlook, ICal, Google Calendar

Maxwell alumni and friends are invited to join us on Wednesday, June 3 at 3:00-4:00 p.m. ET for a conversation with Professor Bill Coplin, who will reflect on the evolving policy studies program in response to the coronavirus pandemic.

Bill Coplin is professor and chair of policy studies at the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs. Also a Laura J. and L. Douglas Meredith Professor for Teaching Excellence, he has devoted most of his recent teaching, research, and service to emphasize the fundamental skills required for career and citizenship success. Based on the highly successful Policy Studies Major he introduced in 1977 and managed since then, Professor Coplin has promoted the idea that the key to skills development is experience outside the formal classroom. He published 10 Things Employers Want You to Learn in College in 2003 which carries the same message; a revised edition was published in 2012. More than 40,000 students have taken his course, PAF 101: Introduction to the Analysis of Public Policy at Syracuse University.
