Long-time World Bank staffer Valerio will work with Dominican Republic
Alexandria Valerio ’93
MPA, a consultant and specialist with the World Bank for more than 27 years, has
been selected to serve as the bank’s resident representative for the Dominican
Republic, beginning July 1.
In her new position,
Valerio will lead strategic dialogue with the Dominican government, and manage
the program and team by which the World Bank supports development priorities in
the Dominican Republic. An additional goal, at present, is to support the
country’s recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic.
Valerio, a Mexican
national, has worked for the World Bank in the Africa, South Asia, and Latin
America. Most recently, she has served as lead education specialist for the
Europe and Central Asia region.
