University website features the history of Maxwell’s VIP visitors

Madeleine AlbrightAs part of its ongoing initiative to highlight historical content during SU’s 150th anniversary year, the Syracuse University website now includes a report on well-known figures from politics and public life who have visited and spoken at the Maxwell School.

Starting with ex-President Herbert Hoover’s keynote address during the dedication of Maxwell Hall (in 1937), the article lists and describes VIP visitors over time — a list the grew considerably in the 1990s and forward, when many of Maxwell’s interdisciplinary research institutes were created. Among the many visitors cited: Colin Powell, Madeleine Albright, Hillary Clinton, and journalists such as Tom Brokaw and George Will.
