Submission of the Official Transcript
While unofficial transcripts may be submitted at the time of application, SU requires an official, degree bearing transcript at time of matriculation.
By the end of your first semester of study, you must submit an official degree bearing transcript to SU. This must bear the appropriate signatures and seal of the institution that issued it and must be received by Syracuse University in a sealed envelope
directly from that institution. Unsealed documents which may have been in the hands of students are not considered official. After completion of the first semester of graduate study, the Graduate School may prohibit further registration for any
student who has not met this requirement. The hold on registration will only be released when this requirement has been met.
You may have your collegiate institution submit the official degree bearing transcript electronically, direct to SU by emailing it to: firstname.lastname@example.org. Transcripts produced in other languages must be officially translated by a third party organization (such
as WES) before being sent to Syracuse University. Students can retrieve this original document upon arrival at SU, by visiting the Graduate School Office, which will make an official copy for university purposes.
