PLACA presents: Relapse Into Violence- How Insecurity is Obscuring Mexico's Moment

The disappearance of 43 students from the Rural Normal School of Ayotzinapa on September 26, 2014 has brought Mexico's upsurge of violence, corruption, and impunity to the forefront of Mexican politics and international attention.  In the aftermath of this tragedy, President Enrique Peña Nieto’s economic reforms, heralded as "Mexico's Moment", have taken a reluctant backseat.  Join the Moynihan Institute of Global Affairs for a discussion on the extent to which this event is affecting Mexico and compromising the next four years of President Peña Nieto’s administration.
