Bio

Whitney Baillie is a Ph.D. candidate majoring in international relations and public policy. Prior to finishing her doctoral coursework, she completed a master of public administration focusing on security studies at the Maxwell School. She is currently working full-time as a program analyst for the National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) while also completing her dissertation.

Her primary research interest is how partisan polarization in the United States impacts foreign policymaking. Her dissertation explores the role of asymmetric and affective partisan polarization on the treaty advice and consent process in the U.S. Senate.
