Working at the intersection of urban sociology and public policy, Aditya examines the discursive foundations that undergird policy planning, analysis and implementation. He analyzes the ways in which public policy is transmitted as a narrative and the ways in which myriad 'publics' engage with both the praxis of policy implementation and the narratives themselves. Aditya's dissertation examines the discursive shifts and continuities that have defined the controversial Interstate 81 highway in Syracuse over its nearly six decade-long history.
Aditya's research has been supported by the Samuels Doctoral Fellowship and the Horowitz Foundation for Social Policy.
