Mr. Barker, a former evangelical pastor, will be speaking on the topic, "Losing Faith in Faith." He will discuss his de-conversion from Bible-Believing Born Again to outspoken Atheist Advocate. After donning the vestments of secularism, Mr. Barker has written numerous books, among which are his famous, “Losing Faith in Faith: From Preacher to Atheist,” and the recently released, “Godless: How an Evangelical Preacher Became One of America's Leading Atheists (with a foreword by Richard Dawkins).” He is co-Founder and co-President of the Freedom From Religion Foundation, the nation’s largest secularist advocacy organization, has enlightened and gentrified such media pit stops as the Phil Donahue show, Maury Povich, Hannity & Colmes, and Oprah Winfrey, and has conducted serious debates with major theism proponents Dinesh D’Souza, Todd Friel, Hassanain Rajabali, and many others. Copies of his books will be available for purchase before and after the event. Mr. Barker will be available for a book signing following his talk.

We’re Turning 100!

To mark our centennial in the fall of 2024, the Maxwell School will hold special events and engagement opportunities to celebrate the many ways—across disciplines and borders—our community ever strives to, as the Oath says, “transmit this city not only not less, but greater, better and more beautiful than it was transmitted to us.”

Throughout the year leading up to the centennial, engagement opportunities will be held for our diverse, highly accomplished community that now boasts more than 38,500 alumni across the globe.
