Maxwell Policy Research Symposium

The Maxwell Policy Research Symposium will address the issues of long term care insurance and services in the US. Many argue that our current long term care system is inadequate, inefficient, and unfair. The Community Living Assistance Services and Supports (CLASS) Act, included in the health reform legislation that was signed into law earlier this year, represents a possible step toward a more comprehensive and uniform system.Leading scholars from the United States and Europe will assess the prospects for moving toward more comprehensive coverage of long term care services in the US. Madonna HarringtonMeyer and Douglas Wolf (SU) and Nancy Folbre (University of Massachusetts--Amherst) are co hosting the event. Papers presented at the Symposium will be compiled in an edited volume for later publication.This event is free and open to the public. Seating is limited, and a reservation is required.
