The Maxwell School Horizon Award was established to recognize wise, inspirational, volunteer leadership combined with exceptional philanthropic commitment. This presentation is being made to Joseph A. Strasser in appreciation of his extraordinary commitment to the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs and its mission of advancing citizenship, scholarship, and leadership around the world. The generosity of Joseph Strasser has enabled the Maxwell School to make significant improvements to the Strasser Commons, the Strasser Academic Village, and entrances to Eggers Hall. The award will be presented on on October 19, at 11:00am in the Joseph Strasser Commons. All faculty, staff and students are invited to attend.

We’re Turning 100!


To mark our centennial in the fall of 2024, the Maxwell School will hold special events and engagement opportunities to celebrate the many ways—across disciplines and borders—our community ever strives to, as the Oath says, “transmit this city not only not less, but greater, better and more beautiful than it was transmitted to us.”

Throughout the year leading up to the centennial, engagement opportunities will be held for our diverse, highly accomplished community that now boasts more than 38,500 alumni across the globe.
