Peer to Peer Series “Do More: Investing in Education in Pakistan” with Rezwana Siddiqui, Humphrey Fellow In next fifty years the entire globe will be managing the issues related to a large aging population. The natural endowment of its sizeable youth population today, and similar projections for the next fifty years, offer great challenges and opportunities to policy makers in Pakistan to make best use of this resource. Henceforth, the country needs to “DO MORE” on the education front today. This presentation aims to address some of the key aspects of a futuristic education strategy, which will have long lasting impact, not just on Pakistan, but the entire global village. Ms. Rezwana Siddiqui is currently a Humphrey Fellow at the Maxwell School where she is pursuing her interests in public policy and public administration. She was most recently Secretary, Strategic Planning of the Federal Board of Revenue, Federal Government of Pakistan. Rezwana aspires to achieve good governance, through curtailment of discretionary powers of public servants, broad-based structural reforms, coupled with an enhanced role of IT. Previously, she was a Project Director in the education sector, where she managed four public sector projects with a cumulative cost of Pak Rupees 2.267 Billion (~US $ 37.0 Million). Based on her experience in the education sector, Rezwana will offer some success-stories many of which have never received wide-spread media coverage. Each student guest speaker will speak for about 20-30 minutes and then we will have a 20-30 minute discussion time. This event is open to all students.
