Hans Peter Schmitz is an Associate Professor of Political Science at the Maxwell School  of Citizenship and Public Affairs at Syracuse University. He is the co-founder of the Transnational NGO Initiative. His research interests include international non-governmental organizations, rights-based approaches to development, and global efforts to address noncommunicable diseases (NCDs).
