North Korea and the US: What Next?
A Talk by Ambassador Joseph Yun, Former US Special Representative for North Korea, Senior Advisor at the US Institute of Peace
Three months ago, US President Donald Trump set foot in North Korea, becoming the first sitting US president to do so. This was the third meeting between Trump and Kim in twelve months, an unimaginable development for Americans and Koreans alike. Ambassador Joseph Yun, former US Special Representative for North Korea, now senior advisor at the US Institute of Peace, will discuss what comes next now that Trump and Kim Jong Un have moved from “fire and fury” to exchanging “love letters.”

To mark our centennial in the fall of 2024, the Maxwell School will hold special events and engagement opportunities to celebrate the many ways—across disciplines and borders—our community ever strives to, as the Oath says, “transmit this city not only not less, but greater, better and more beautiful than it was transmitted to us.”
Throughout the year leading up to the centennial, engagement opportunities will be held for our diverse, highly accomplished community that now boasts more than 38,500 alumni across the globe.
