M.A. (IR) and M.P.A. Accelerated Student Mentoring Program
Who the program is designed for: Students enrolled in the accelerated M.A. (IR) or M.P.A. program. Students are eligible to start participating in program activities upon acceptance into one of these accelerated programs and may continue to participate in program activities until graduation from their respective degree program.
When will the program occur: Program activities are held year-round. Students start participating in activities upon being admitted to an accelerated program and continue until graduation. While not required to do so, students are encouraged to participate in program activities consistently during their undergraduate and graduate time to get the most out of the mentoring program experience.
What does the program entail: The mentoring program consists of a mix of skills development, professional development and networking, and social activities. Two activities will be held in the fall (one skills development, one professional development and networking), two activities will be held in the spring (one skills development, one professional development and networking), and one activity will be held during May (social activity).
Skills development activities will focus on equipping students with academic skills that will help them be successful in their graduate coursework. Professional development and networking activities will focus on providing students with professional development opportunities and resources to encourage their successful career placement following graduation from their respective accelerated degree program. Social activities will offer opportunities for accelerated students to get to know one another.

We’re Turning 100!
To mark our centennial in the fall of 2024, the Maxwell School will hold special events and engagement opportunities to celebrate the many ways—across disciplines and borders—our community ever strives to, as the Oath says, “transmit this city not only not less, but greater, better and more beautiful than it was transmitted to us.”
Throughout the year leading up to the centennial, engagement opportunities will be held for our diverse, highly accomplished community that now boasts more than 38,500 alumni across the globe.
