The workshop will focus on: putting together a book proposal, approaching publishers, converting a dissertation to a book, framing readership/audience, second or third book projects, navigating peer review, navigating the production process, the marketing and publicity of your book, and more.

Dan LoPreto is an acquisitions editor at Stanford University Press. He acquires books in international affairs, global studies and environmental politics. He welcomes proposals that offer interdisciplinary methods for understanding world politics, as well as critical approaches to international affairs. Prior to joining SUP, Dan worked at Bold Type Books (formerly Nation Books), Oxford University Press, Columbia University Press, and several bookstores.
He currently serves as editor-at-large of Columbia International Affairs Online, editor-at-large at the Toynbee Prize Foundation, and on the advisory board of the ‘What We Know’ project at Cornell University. Dan holds a master’s degree in political science from Fordham University and is a third-generation New Yorker.
