Jess M. Meyer, assistant professor in the Department of Population Health at the University of Kansas School of Medicine.
Bio: Jess M. Meyer is an assistant professor of population health at the University of Kansas Medical Center. Meyer received a Ph.D. in sociology from Northwestern University and completed a postdoctoral traineeship in the T32 Biosocial Training Program at the Carolina Population Center at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
Meyer’s research investigates social determinants of health over the life course, with a particular emphasis on social determinants of sleep health. She has also worked in interdisciplinary teams to investigate how social experiences and inequalities affect biological processes reflected in biomarkers. Her recent work investigates downstream consequences of sleep for health and aging.
