The Moynihan Institute’s Practice of Global Politics Seminar series presents Daniel Benaim, former deputy assistant secretary of state for the Arabian Peninsula.

What makes a great speech? Words can shape diplomacy, inspire nations and frame how the world sees America. Drawing on years of experience writing at the highest levels of government, Daniel Benaim will share insights and stories from his time as a senior speechwriter to the former U.S. president, vice president, secretary of state and national security advisor. His work includes speeches for President Biden on international affairs and for Secretary Clinton during pivotal global events.

Benaim has taught speechwriting at George Washington University, New York University and the United Nations, and his writing has appeared in Foreign Affairs and The New York Times.
