CMC Workshop: Information Sharing and Word Smithing

The purpose of this workshop from the Conflict Management Center is to provide an understanding of and skills in information sharing and word smithing, including while managing difference.
Topics will include sensory acuity, the communication process, truth and honesty, negation and the reverse effect, information gathering and the art of asking good questions, reframing, language use framed by diversity and difference, and apology and forgiveness.
The workshop will take an experiential approach, with demonstrations, skill practice sessions, and critical discussions.
This workshop will be led by Averell Manes, professor emeritus and faculty affiliate at Western Connecticut State University, and PARCC faculty affiliate at Syracuse University.
