This Conflict Management Center (CMC) workshop introduces you to the theory and practice of negotiation. We will explore principles of interest-based negotiation, the importance of preparation, sources of power, the role of culture, and ways to overcome barriers to successful negotiation.
The workshop format includes a mix of lecture, discussion and simulation. Students will be able to contextualize what they learn to hypothetical scenarios ranging from simple two-person negotiations through more complex multi-party negotiations.
Lunch will be provided.
Complete three CMC workshops to earn the Conflict Management and Collaboration microcredential and digital badge!
