O’Neil named to the Advisory Board of Mission 500

Peter ONeilPeter O’Neil ’91 BA (IR) has joined the advisory board of Mission 500, a nonprofit serving children, families, and communities in crisis across the United States.

As an advisory board member, O’Neil will help guide Mission 500 and help the charity extend both its message and its ability to fulfill its mission. Founded in 2016, Mission 500 works closely with partners across the security industry in order to encourage corporate social responsibility. To date, they have provided over 40,000 meals, essential hygiene items to 5,000 families, and distributed 13,000 sets of school supplies to impoverished communities.

O’Neil is currently the CEO of ASIS International, a nonprofit that provides educational, certification, and networking opportunities to security professionals; he has held that position for the past four years. He previously spent 16 years with the American Industrial Hygiene Association, beginning as a director of marketing and member services before eventually being appointed the organization’s executive director, a role in which he served for more than seven years. Additionally, O’Neil has served in several executive volunteer leadership positions over this time, including the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.
