Selman named to Homeland Security & Defense Business Council Board

John SelmanJohn Selman ’92 MPA has been appointed to the board of directors for the Homeland Security & Defense Business Council, a corporate membership organization working to build engagement between industry and government.

Selman is currently vice president of national security programs for LMI, a management consulting nonprofit working to improve the business of government headquartered in McLean, Virginia. They were founded in 1961 to help government agency clients better manage logistics and respond to critical problems. LMI draws on expertise in advanced analytics, digital services, logistics, and management advisory services to work as a third party with federal civilian and defense agencies. 

Before joining LMI, Selman was a principal with Booz Allen Hamilton for eight years. He also previously spent more than five years with LMI as a program manager and research fellow. He spent a year and a half in government as an environmental protection specialist with the U.S. Department of Energy. Over the course of his career, he has worked with more than 20 U.S. civil, defense, and intelligence agencies.
