This dataset includes information on all congressional hearings since 1946. Data are compiled from the hearings sections of annual CIS bound volumes (Congressional Information Service: Abstracts of Congressional Publications and Legislative History Citations), and are supplemented with information from the Proquest Congressional database.

The hearings included are those of committees, subcommittees, task forces, panels and commissions, and the joint committees of Congress.
