Outreach for Educators
In the K-12 Classroom
Central Asia and the Caucasus Initiative of Syracuse University is available to provide Central New York K-12 students in-classroom presentations and lessons about the countries in the Central Asia and the Caucasus region: Azerbaijan, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan.
Topics covered include food, artwork, language, history, dance and music, giving students a tangible cultural experience that helps them learn about a country with which they might otherwise not have been familiar.
Central Asia and the Caucasus Initiative Graduate Student Research Grant
The Central Asia and the Caucasus Initiative invites Syracuse University graduate students to apply for this award of up to $1,500 to support research concerning Central Asia and the Caucasus. Details about the grant and how to apply are available on the Maxwell School's Answers site.
Get Connected with the Larger Central Asia and the Caucasus Community
This organization seeks to support the study of Central Asia—Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan and adjacent regions of the Caucasus, Russia, China, Afghanistan and Iran. Its main activity is a biennial conference hosted in one of the European countries or in Central Asia.
This group is a network to help post-graduates and early career scholars of the region connect, share information and meet to promote their work.
The Central Eurasian Studies Society is a volunteer-driven organization that facilitates communication and interaction among scholars of the Central Eurasia region.
The Program on New Approaches to Research and Security in Eurasia (PONARS Eurasia) is a network of over 125 academics, mainly from North America and post-Soviet Eurasia, advancing new approaches to research on security, politics, economics and society in Russia and Eurasia.
