Community Partners
Community partners add invaluable professional learning opportunities for students. As a student in the civic and community engagement minor, you won’t just observe—you’ll roll up your sleeves and get to work. Everyone benefits when you learn through work that matters.
You will work with CCE faculty and staff to choose a community organization that aligns with your specific educational and career goals for a semester-long internship course. Throughout the semester, you will spend eight to ten hours per week working in and learning about this community organization.
Community partners are often local nonprofit organizations, government and elected officials’ offices, private companies, coalitions and foundations. As you move through your academic career, your involvement with community organizations will change and grow. The local community benefits from the talent and energy of CCE students.
CCE students provide reliable, dedicated support with program delivery, constituent services, communications and writing, data analysis and management, special projects and more.
Syracuse, NY - A Learning Laboratory
Syracuse University’s location in Central New York serves as a learning laboratory, where students will gain real-world experience and impact the local community.
CCE students have worked on many local issues, including education, healthcare, aging, environmental sustainability, voter participation, government accountability, economic disparity, racial equity, refugee resettlement and more.
