Hamad will study comparative politics with a focus on authoritarian states. He is interested in understanding how authoritarian leaders use mass and social media tools to maintain their power particularly in the Middle East and North Africa. Hamad has an M.A. from Georgetown and a B.A. from San Diego State University.
