Bio

Paige Emerson is an M.A. student with focuses on historical archaeology and bioarchaeology. She received a B.A. in anthropology, linguistic studies and psychology from Syracuse University in 2024.

Her research centers on colonialism in North and Central America, grounded in biopower and feminist theory. Her primary project is at Gratiot's Grove in Shullsburg, Wisconsin, examining gentility and domesticity at a homestead site during the lead rush of the early nineteenth century.

She also does archival research on the colonial Guatemalan census as a tool of biopower, as well as analysis of osteological human remains in Syracuse University's medical teaching collection.
