Members of the Syracuse University community are invited to attend and support student innovators as they present their solutions for building healthier and more equitable communities.

The Social Impact Pitch Competition: Building Healthier Communities Through Innovation brings together undergraduate students from across Syracuse University to present bold ideas aimed at improving public health and strengthening communities.

Hosted by the Lerner Center for Public Health Promotion and Population Health in partnership with the LaunchPad, this competition empowers student changemakers to transform public health ideas into actionable and scalable solutions. Student teams of one to four members develop entrepreneurial concepts that address pressing health challenges while advancing equity and well-being.

During this event, finalists will pitch their ideas to a panel of judges and members of the campus community.

Judging Criteria

Projects are evaluated based on problem solving, feasibility, social impact and innovation. Interdisciplinary and inclusive teams are strongly encouraged.

Awards

First Place: $5,000
Second Place: $3,000

Opportunities for Students

Participants gain valuable experience presenting their ideas, networking with leaders in entrepreneurship and public health and receiving feedback from experts.

Student Support and Resources

Teams receive guidance from advisors at the Lerner Center and Blackstone LaunchPad, including templates and coaching to help refine their ideas and develop compelling pitches.
