Many Americans view China as a threat, while many Chinese believe the U.S. wants to contain China. Despite such mutual distrust, the two nations are economically interdependent and cultural exchange has never been greater. The panel will consider the role of perceptions in security and international policy###trade and economics###and culture and public diplomacy.
