Francine J. D'Amico, teaching professor emerita of political science, has been named to the Fellowships and Grants Panelist Advisory Board of the American Association of University Women (AAUW). She will serve a two-year term from May 2026 to May 2028.

The appointment builds on D’Amico’s service to the organization. She has reviewed applications for AAUW’s International Fellowships Review Panel since 2023, evaluating candidates for a program that has supported international women pursuing full-time graduate and postdoctoral study in the United States since 1917.

In her new advisory board role, D’Amico will help shape the panelist selection process for AAUW’s full suite of fellowships and grants programs, which have awarded more than $29.6 million to nearly 1,600 women scholars and community projects in recent years.

D’Amico joined the Maxwell School in 2000 and has taught courses on international law and organizations, global governance, and Latin America and the Caribbean. Her scholarship focuses on gender and international relations, human rights, and the experiences of women in nontraditional roles. She served as director of undergraduate studies in international relations from 2004-22 and was a longtime faculty advisor for Maxwell's Model United Nations team, which earned top honors at multiple national conferences under her guidance.
