Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy will travel to Washington this week for talks with President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris and to attend sessions at the UN general assembly. He will also present his plan to end the war with Russia.
“I think what President Zelenskyy is going to do will be fairly consistent with his previous trips. This will be the fifth time that he'll be in Washington and the U.S. since the start of the full-scale war about two and a half years ago. Just to garner additional support from the administration, the Congress, and at the address to the United Nations in ways that will provide the military support and also looking forward to negotiations,” says Vice Adm. Robert Murrett (Ret.), professor of practice of public administration and international affairs.
“He will be rolling out the details of his peace plan—it's called his victory plan—which he's already shared with the White House and some others throughout his own government, and also our Secretary of State was there last week so that will be a point of discussion too,” Murrett says.
