February 10, 2026
Robert Rubinstein has been awarded the 2026 Sol Tax Distinguished Service Award by the Society for Applied Anthropology (SfAA).
The award is given annually by the SfAA in honor of Sol Tax, an American anthropologist who made significant and innovative contributions to applied anthropology and anthropological societies. The award is presented to a member of SfAA in recognition of long-term, outstanding service to the Society. Awardees must have demonstrated leadership in organizational structure or policy development, developed curricula in applied anthropology, established ethical standards of practice, or made lasting, exceptional contributions in other areas of applied anthropology.
Recipients are invited to share brief reflections on their career and service at the SfAA's Annual Meeting. This year's 86th Annual Meeting will take place in Albuquerque, NM from March 17 to March 21. Read more about Rubinstein's award and career highlights on the SfAA website.
