Emily Thorson, assistant professor of political science, co-authored an op-ed, "Sports were already politicized. And sports culture is deeply conservative," that was published in the Washington Post. Thorson and co-author Michael Serazio found through survey research that sports fans tend to harbor more right-leaning attitudes on economic and foreign policy issues, even as Republicans are no more likely than Democrats to follow most sports. 10/20/17
